Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Medicare & Medicaid?

Medicare and Medicaid are both government-sponsored programs designed to help people with healthcare costs, but they serve different populations and have different funding sources. Medicare is a federal health insurance program primarily for people aged 65 and older, some younger people with disabilities and people with ALS or end-stage renal disease (ESRD)

Medicaid is a joint federal and state program providing health coverage to eligible low-income individuals and families, including children, pregnant women, parents, seniors, and people with disabilities. Eligibility and benefits can vary significantly from state to state because states have some flexibility in how they administer their Medicaid programs. Additionally, Medicare is primarily funded by the federal government, while Medicaid is jointly funded by federal and state governments.
